HOPEHIV is about the generation of hope. We support children and young people in sub-Saharan Africa affected by HIV/AIDS. We believe they have the potential to make Africa’s future one of hope, rather than despair.
That we means you. The first thing you can do to support us is to explore our website. Click on the people trees above to find out about how to get your school, church or company involved, or click the links across the middle of this page to find out more about who we are and what we do.

We see hope in Hadija.
Hadija is 24 years old. She lost her father when she was very young and is part of a family of 9. She has cared for her HIV+ mother and younger siblings for many years living in a slum area in Uganda. Until recently, Hadija has been part of the leadership team at SAFY, a HOPEHIV-funded youth project which seeks to help young people affected by HIV to develop positive futures. SAFY operates peer education, health and entrepreneurship programmes. With HOPEHIV support, Hadija successfully graduated with a Diploma in Development Studies at Kampala University in 2009 and went on to work for them as their full time project co-ordinator, using her skills in the area where she grew up. One day she hopes to complete the full degree. She is passionate about helping other young people overcome the challenges of poverty, orphanhood and HIV/AIDS, and is looking to continue her work in this area with another organisation.
